Adam and Gabe Talk About Sports and Stuff: Day 23: Did Not Hear From Giants

Adam and Gabe have been friends for a long time, and have spent many more hours than they’d care to acknowledge talking about sports. Like that one time in college where they stood in the hallway of their dorm for an extra hour trying to remember who played left field for the Mets in 1986 (George Foster, Danny Heep, Mookie Wilson, Kevin Mitchell, and others). Some of what appears on this blog are well thought out essays and diatribes. More of them are text message conversations that have simply been brought here for public consumption.

Adam is a big football and baseball guy, and is a longtime fan of the Chicago Bears and Atlanta Braves. He’s also well versed in US history and culinary wizardry.

Gabe has a lesser passion for football (Keena Turner!), but is pretty crazy with the baseball love. He’s a big fan of the San Francisco Giants, and holds strong standards regarding hot dog condiments and convertible ownership.

Neither can really explain VORP or UZR terribly well, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have strong opinions, often supported by marginally relevant facts.

Also, Adam gets the MLB Network at his house. Gabe does not (COME ON, Dish Network!). So many of these conversations begin with that premise.
